Welcome and thank you for visiting!
Birgit is dedicated to training that is ruled by ethics, a training system that is not only humane, compassionate, and reliable, but is also based on the latest scientific studies.
This form of training constantly incorporates the most reliable scientific findings, and furthers an evolutionary progress toward a more harmonious relationship between humans and their dogs.
As you may have guessed by now, Birgit loves dogs! The love she has for our canine companions is the very reason behind her business and her services. She stands for the term Progressive Reinforcement Training and an ethical way of training dogs that involves no form of physical or psychological intimidation.
Birgit has more than 25 years of experience, competed in obedience and tracking, and handles a certified SAR K9. She completed her education as temperament tester with the Swiss Kennel Club SKG and apprenticed with Assistance Dog International ADI, learning from and working with guide dogs, service dogs as well as therapy dogs. Birgit then became supervisor of the puppy early education program at Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society.
Her dog Blaze was the first dog in the Calgary area to be certified as civilian detection dog by the RCMP. She was member and trainer with the Canadian Search Dog Association CSDA and committee member for the SAR Alberta K9 working group on the use of civilian search dogs.
After returning to Switzerland Birgit wanted to offer services that she felt were unavailable: Dog training in English!
Birgit believes all dogs deserve the best and that the best should still be affordable. Her services are different than most. The courses are structured, you will benefit from small classes (up to 6 teams), and the practical courses will be held at different places and in everyday-situations. She also offers one-on-one training.
Birgit is an approved Dog Trainer by the Veterinary Inspection Office of the Canton of Zurich (VETA ZH), and a NHB specialist certified by the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (BLV).
