Ability to concentrate
A dog’s ability to concentrate depends on age, level of training, personality, and health. You would want to teach your 8 to 12 weeks old puppy new tricks only at home without any distraction. This way you built the basis for a systematically developed and trained dog.
After that mild stressors have to be implemented to decrease distractibility and therefore increase the ability to concentrate. Well-trained adult dogs can concentrate for several hours, e.g. assistance dogs or detection dogs.
