Time has come to make the call

COVID-19 update from April 9, 2020

It is still forbidden to operate dog schools. The lockdown has been extended to April 26, 2020.

COVID-19 update from March 27, 2020

As I continue to follow the latest developments and COVID-19 recommendations, I am prioritizing the health and safety of my clients as well as mine.

My school is currently closed and will remain so until at least Sunday, April 19, 2020.

Based on the information shared by our government, I can decide whether to continue our closure past this date.

In the future the “Puppy Fundamentals Program” will be offered only via one-on-one training. The number of participants in classes will stay with a maximum of 4, and we will work outdoors, in large spaces that will allow social distancing.

I will be in contact with all current participants after April 19, to update you on all changes to your specific program session.

I believe it is important to mourn the loss of so many innocent people, to support those that lost their home during the earthquake, and those small business – like mine – that are struggling in this economical holocaust.

But I also want to urge those ignorant morons, to keep their social distance, and not to sneeze and cough as if they were home alone.

I truly miss seeing you and your dogs and am looking forward to continuing to support all of you, even if it looks a little different than it did two weeks ago. Maybe I will even do some online learning …

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to call or email me.

Stay positive by eating tons of chocolate, stay active by training your dog, stay healthy – do whatever makes you happy – so we can meet again,

Birgit

Translation Veterinary Office ZH:

D. Dogs
Is it allowed to visit mandatory classes or puppy classes?
As per March 16, 2020, 06:30 PM it is not allowed to operate classes, even not outside.

Excepted is one-on-one therapy training for dogs with behaviour disorders, if the dog owner is healthy, and does not live together with sick persons.

Rules according to BAG have to be respected.

What happens with dog owners that cannot keep the deadline because of the situation above?

  • Dog Owners have to ask their dog trainers for a confirmation and to show it to their municipality if the municipality asks to do so.
  • Dog Trainers have to confirm the number of sessions already visited if asked by the dog owner.
  • Municipalities have to extend the deadlines for the time of the lockdown because of COVID-19.

For understandable reasons I would like to inform you about the measurements taken in regards to COVID-19 at Hilsbos Dog Training.

Effective immediately

  • The 24-hrs-cancellation policy is lifted until further notice.
  • Please cancel if coughing, sneezing or having fever.
  • Please cancel if being around kids/adults that are coughing, sneezing or having fever.
  • Please cancel if having traveled within 14 days prior to the scheduled session.
  • Social distancing; no shake hands, no hugs

Making this decision was honestly heartbreaking, but I know it is the right thing to do. It is my responsibility to protect you, this country, and my family, and I feel it is essential to eliminate social contact as much as possible.

I am in contact with the Veterinary Office of Canton Zurich, awaiting written confirmation if deadlines for the mandatory classes will be extended.

Feel free to contact me for any questions you may have. I am looking forward with optimism and will try and share lots of positivity through social media.

This is going to be especially difficult for small businesses. Please consider supporting them as much as possible – as soon as possible.

Thank you, tons, for your understanding. Stay safe and healthy!

Birgit
