Finally the authorization Number by the Veterinary Inspection Office of the Canton of Zurich (Kanton Zürich Gesundheitsdirektion Veterinäramt) arrived.
Birgit is approved dog trainer for Welpenförderung, Junghundekurs & Erziehungskurs in the Canton of Zurich.
Please visit Mandatory Courses in ZH, and find out if you need to attend. Courses are offered in Knonauer Amt and Sihltal Areas.
Before getting a dog in the Canton of Zurich:
- Liability Insurance with at least CHF 1 Mio. coverage: Mandatory for all dogs.
- If this is your first dog, visit the SKN Theory Class: Mandatory for all dogs.
- Check, that the dog is chipped and registered with AMICUS: Mandatory for all dogs.
- Make sure, that the dog does not belong to breed type II, as these dogs are forbidden.
After getting a dog/arriving in the Canton of Zurich:
- Register (new) ownership with AMICUS within 10 days: Mandatory for all dogs.
- Register your dog with your municipality within 10 days: Mandatory for all dogs.
- Visit 4 lessons “Welpenförderung” (puppy class), if the dog’s age is between 8 and 16 weeks: Mandatory for dogs belonging to breed type I.
- Visit 10 lessons “Junghundekurs” (includes SKN Practical Course), if the dog’s age is between 16 weeks and 18 months: Mandatory for dogs belonging to breed type I.
- Visit 10 lessons “Erziehungskurs” (includes SKN Practical Course), if the dog’s age is between 18 months and 8 years within 12 months after arriving/getting the dog: Mandatory for dogs belonging to breed type I.
- Visit 4 lessons SKN Practical Course within 12 months after arriving/getting the dog: Mandatory for all dogs.
